Spain,
Your career in Europe

Spain is a key player in European livestock production, known for its strong farming traditions, modern production systems, and high quality standards. With diverse climates and advanced agricultural practices, Spain offers an excellent environment for professional development in the livestock sector.

Traineeship programs in livestock farming

Spain is one of Europe’s most important livestock-producing countries, offering trainees a unique chance to gain hands-on experience in modern animal farming systems. Through the Bixter livestock traineeship program, participants work directly on professional Spanish farms and learn how high-quality livestock production is managed under European standards.

This program offers the opportunity for a 12-month traineeship, allowing participants to become a real part of the farm team. Over time, trainees take on increasing responsibility and contribute to the daily operations of the farm, building strong routines and professional confidence through consistent work and practical learning.

During the traineeship, participants support experienced farmers with essential tasks such as feeding and caring for animals, monitoring health conditions, maintaining barns and equipment, assisting in milking routines, and ensuring hygiene and welfare standards. Depending on the farm’s specialization, trainees may work with cattle, pigs, poultry, sheep, goats, or mixed-farm environments.

Because the traineeship is long-term, participants do not only “help out” — they become involved in the real working structure of the farm. Trainees learn farm technologies, workflows, and production processes directly through daily practice, including topics such as animal welfare standards, biosecurity, feeding strategies, sustainable management, and efficiency-focused livestock techniques.

This traineeship is ideal for candidates who want to develop professional skills in livestock farming and gain real European work experience. Working closely with farmers strengthens practical abilities, improves agricultural knowledge, and prepares trainees for future career opportunities in agriculture and food-related industries.

Bixter.training supports trainees throughout the full process — from application and placement to contract support, documentation guidance, and preparation for living and working in Spain.

Please review the program requirements carefully before applying.
