Traineeship programs in livestock farming
Germany is one of Europe’s leading countries in modern livestock production, known for its high efficiency, advanced farm technology, and strict animal welfare standards. Through the Bixter Livestock Farming traineeship program, international participants gain the opportunity to work on professional German farms and build strong practical skills in a structured European work environment.
During the traineeship, participants become an integral part of the farm team and actively contribute to daily routines and farm responsibilities. Rather than only observing, trainees are involved in real operations and gradually take responsibility across different areas of farm work. By working closely with experienced farmers and staff, trainees help improve daily processes and support the farm in reaching better results together as a team.
Typical tasks include feeding routines, monitoring animal health and well-being, maintaining barns and equipment, supporting hygiene procedures, and ensuring animal welfare standards. Depending on the placement, trainees may work in cattle farms, pig farms, dairy operations, or mixed livestock environments, gaining insight into different production systems and management styles.
German farms often operate with modern technology and well-organized workflows, giving trainees valuable experience with digital farm systems, feeding technologies, animal monitoring tools, and efficiency-driven livestock management routines. Over time, participants develop strong work discipline, professional confidence, and practical understanding by learning directly through daily work.
The program also introduces trainees to essential topics such as biosecurity, sustainable livestock production, hygiene requirements, quality standards, and European animal welfare regulations. This combination of practical training and structured farm processes creates an excellent foundation for future career opportunities in agriculture and food-related industries.
Bixter.training supports participants throughout the entire process — from application and placement to contract support, visa application guidance, and preparation for living and working in Germany.
