Sustainable Growth

This traineeship provides international participants with hands-on experience in Sweden’s professional culinary and hospitality sector. Trainees assist chefs with food preparation, cutting ingredients, maintaining kitchen hygiene, organizing workstations, supporting cooking processes, and ensuring smooth daily kitchen operations. Depending on placement, trainees may also assist with buffet preparation, plating, and basic cooking tasks under supervision.

Participants gain exposure to Scandinavian culinary traditions, modern kitchen techniques, and Sweden’s high standards for food safety and quality. The program helps develop essential kitchen skills, teamwork, and professional discipline valuable for future careers as cooks or chefs.

Requirements for applicants

Completed education (Degree or Diploma) in: Culinary, Gastronomy, Restaurant & Cooking Techniques, Hospitality, or related fields

Age 21–40 years old

Minimum B1 English level (confirmed through Bixter interview)

Financial readiness to cover travel and personal expenses

Strong work attitude, discipline, and good ethics

Leadership skills and responsible professional behavior

Relevant work experience as a kitchen cook/chef:
Minimum 3 years
Valid recommendations from previous employers
Portfolio with photos of cooked dishes
